The 7 forces for business resilience and mastery explained.
The 7 forces explained:
Evan though the picture above depicts these 7 forces as a staircase, the sequence do not need to follow as we have shown. Each organisation and situation needs to be tailor-made so that great outcome can be achieved with minimum efforts.
You may consider strategy before or after leadership. On one hand, your organisation’s leader(s) create the strategy. On the other hand, your strategy dictates the kind of leadership you organisation needs in the future. Due to the symbolic relationship between these two variables, we recommend that you begin with whichever is the more burning need and reassess if after you examine the other.
Leadership: The behaviours of the individual(s) who champion the transition and guide the organisation to success in the future.
Strategy: The product, market, and competitive vision that defines the arena in which the organisation will play and how it will win the game.
Process: The workflows that must be created or improved to implement the strategy.
Talent: The quality and quantity of experience skills, intelligence and attitudes that need to populate the processes.Talent is the lifeblood of all organisations. Talent is the seedbed in which competitive advantage germinates and flowers. It occupies its position on the staircase and it is generally not the variable that should be addressed first.
Structure: The organisation design and reporting relationships that will enable the processes to flow unimpeded. Every structure has strengths. Every structure has baggage. The objective is to help you assess and build an organisation chart that will sustain your business and enable you to thrive in the future.
Culture: the rewards, norms, and rituals that will support the strategy by underpinning the processes and talent.
Communication: The person-to-data-base and person-to-person information flow required by the processes. Communication has been isolated not because it is a separate step but because it is such a critical component of the other six steps. Effective communication lubricates the transition to thrive in the future.
